I’m about to throw an ashtray at my boss’s head.
Turns out, the mind behind my favorite, steamy romance novels...the ones I only read in private...the ones that are my only escape after a long day of dealing with The Boss From Hell? It’s not Natalie McBride, the sweet, rural housewife.
That’s right: my boss, Adrian Risinger, the thirty-three-year-old, maddeningly sexy, pissant billionaire “bad boy" who thinks he runs my life. He is also the author of all my deepest, most secret fantasies. And to make matters worse, he needs me to impersonate “Natalie” at a series of book signings and conventions. But, of course, that’s only if I want to keep my job.
On second thought, I’m going to need something heavier than an ashtray.
When I bought this book I originally thought it was going to be a series of short novellas going over a certain span of time. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it as very well written novel featuring a slightly kinky billionaire and he's debutante secretary who is also very brash and snarky. A lot of these books start off with the secretary listing after her boss and all of a sudden their sleeping together. In a way, this novel does the same thing but reveals that Adrian has actually listed after his secretary for years and instead of acting on it, decides to write a bestselling series under a pen name describing all the things he would love to do to Meghan, his secretary. The push and pull of their professional relationship suddenly turns into a personal one as well. Hot sex scenes, plenty of moments where you want to punch Adrian in the face just like Meghan, and plenty of snarky banter between the two leave you captivated and hoping for their happily ever after. A great read and definitely one where you get sucked in by the characters as well as plot!
