So, I've read a Sarah O'Rourke book before, Cain's Salvation and honestly didn't realize this was book was part of a series. I was able to read it and know what was going on even though I haven't read the others. I don't want to give to many spoilers away so I'm going to pretty vague here. Honor is a shell of a woman after a pretty horrible ordeal when she was younger. She's pretty melancholy and is pretty much just existing instead of living. Zeke has loved Honor forever and knows what she's been through and wants to prove to her that he's the one for her even if she can't see it.
Lots of mystery, murder, soul searching, fighting, bonding. You name it and it is in this book. Here is where I'm going to give a warning, Honor's past, is horrible and could be a trigger for some people. It by no means is throughout the whole book. It's given in context and briefly so we know why Honor is so closed off. Also, there is a pretty bug age difference between Honor and Zeke (I could care less because my husband is 27 years older than me) and I've heard some people say they can't read books like that. Anywho, the biggest theme in this book: Love really does conquer all.
