Pissed off that he's being made to take time off of his case, Ethan decides to take a job with his friends for as a bodyguard. Kate is a kick-ass ex-FBI analyst who abruptly quit her job because of the sexual harassment from her boss. She ends up taking on the same assignment as Ethan and their paths cross.
Ethan is pissed at the world and gets even angrier when he realizes that he's going to have to help train Kate to be ready as the personal guard for their client. When both start to let their egos go, the sparks fly and they are electric together. Little do they know that Ethan's job will inevitably put Kate's life and the client's life on the line.
Ethan is a gruff alpha who has a lone wolf complex. At first, I really hated him. He was standoffish and a total tool. Once he finally let his guard down and little and you got inside his head a little bit, I ended up loving him. Kate is a kickass chick who is out to prove herself as more than just an analyst. She was a trained field agent but never got out from behind her computer until she quit. The ending is so well written, that I'm not sure if it's a cliffy or the end of their story. I'm anxiously waiting until I can get my hands on the next book to find out.
